In spring 2009, the two Norwegians Joshua French and Tjostolv Moland cross the border into Eastern Congo. A few days later, the news spreads that their hired driver has been found killed. After several nights on the run in the mighty Congolese jungle, the two are apprehended and sentenced to death. When Tjostolv Moland, after four long years in prison, is found dead in his cell, Joshua French is suspected of the murder of his best friend. In meeting the broken Joshua French, the film takes us on a journey back to a mystery that has been the subject of all kinds of speculation. Known as 'the Congo Case,' the fateful events in the Congo jungle develop into a politically and diplomatically charged symbol case that long seems unsolvable.
